This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

Help me get needed supplies for my 8th grade classroom. We use these supplies for projects in Algebra class including functions, slope, systems of equations and quadratics! During our slope lesson, we create a stained glass window project, where students use the different types of slope to create the lines for the window. The students use the markers to complete the look of a stained glass window.

We make posters during our function unit to show the four different ways to express a function.

The students are required to draw, be creative and use color to finish their project.

More than 50% of my students come from low-income households. These supplies will help to make sure all students have access to the needed materials for projects. No one has to feel left out and everyone can participate. This makes it easier for kids to feel part of a community and to not feel left out. I have asked for basic needs like pencils, loose leaf paper and folders so that all of my students have what they need to make them successful in Algebra class.
