My students need classroom supplies such as clay and drawing paper for creativity, and we need a good pencil sharpener.

My Students

I teach Language Arts to three classrooms of third graders. The students come from lots of different cultures, family, structures and economic situations. They are enthusiastic learners and each one brings something unique to the situation. My students don't always have the means to have access to these types of materials, so I would like to ask your help. I want to give my students lots of choices and opportunities that they may not always get and enrich their lives.

My Project

Our electric pencil sharpener has died. We need a new one. It is hard to sharpen pencils by hand for all the students I see in a day. This sharpener is used by one of my colleagues and is great. Also, the kids love to draw and paint. The paper would go a long way and hopefully last the whole year. They like being creative with different crafts. The other supplies will be used during our Friday Fun times where the students choose activities they want to do to end our week. They earn this time and now that Winter is here, we need things to do indoors.
