This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

I want the best for my students. Every day you can find us working to become more mature readers and writers by learning new strategies. I teach an amazing group of kindergarten ELL students. They live in New York City.

In my classroom, I have 25 wonderful English language learners who are excited to come to school and are curious each day for what adventures will happen.

My students come from an underprivileged area where many of them come from uneven upbringings. Although some struggles continue at home, they still come to school every day with smiles on their faces ready to learn!

My Project

I can't wait to meet my next group of kindergartners, and a fresh start is what we need to get ready for kindergarten. My students need essential materials in order to have a successful classroom environment and maximize their learning.

This upcoming year we have to continue to do our best to not share our materials and be safe and healthy while we learn.

I am requesting glue sticks, and dry erase markers. We usually share our materials but because of the pandemic we had to completely stop sharing. Students will have their own supplies at school for their learning. I am also requesting colored paper and laminating sheets. I will be able to create literacy centers for each child to have and the laminating sheets will protect them and have them last a long time.

In addition, we need a stapler, tape and sentence strips to use as we need. My students love to put their final work on the bulletin board. A new working stapler, tape and sentence strips will help display their final writing pieces and art work.
