Classroom Supplies For The School Year!

My students need classroom supplies such as book pouches, yardsticks, caddies, calendars, and batteries for the new school year!

My Students

My second graders are voracious readers! They love to read both fiction and non-fiction books. Their favorite characters include Pete the Cat, Fly Guy, Piggie and Elephant, and Mercy Watson. They also love to read about insects, space, and plants. My students are hungry bookworms! They are eager to learn and read about the world around them.

My students love to be at school and are like little sponges absorbing everything around them.

Their parents work long hours and usually do not see their children. The children are usually cared for by their grandparents or a family friend. Most of them do not have someone who speaks English at home. Thus, it is difficult for students to acquire language.

Due to financial hardships, my students do not have the opportunity to participate in extracurricular activities during the school year or summer.

My Project

Books! Books! Books! My second graders will be reading all sorts of books this year in second grade! To help students store and transport the books carefully and respectfully from school to home, my second graders will need a sturdy book pouch to fit picture and chapter books. Every week students will be choosing just the right books to read in school and at home.

To help my students stay organized year round, they will need book pouches and table caddies for their books and supplies.

My students will use the book pouches to store their books to read at home and at school. The table caddies will hold pencils, skinny and thick markers, glue sticks, and erasers for reading and writing. By keeping our school supplies organized, children will have easy access to use them year round to during reading, writing, or math workshops. In addition, we will need yardsticks for our math measurement unit and calendars to keep track of important school events. The batteries and air compressors will help us to maintain the electronics in our classroom. With the proper materials, my students will be prepared to learn!
