My Students

My students are a lovable set of kids who enjoy life! Many come from difficult situations and a tough neighborhood where there are a lot of factors pulling them in every direction to do the wrong thing.

When they come to school, it is often difficult for them to switch into learning mode without the right tools and materials.

As a school, we hope to help our students by giving them an excellent foundation for their further education. So many of our students are attracted to sports, and these after school activities help keep them motivated, promote a spirit of sportsmanship and teamwork, and give kids a productive outlet after school!

My Project

During the school year my students do a lot of reading and writing to meet their learning objectives. With 160+ kids cycling through my class each week, this turns in to a lot of materials being used.

My students need classroom supplieslike pencils, filler paper, eraser caps, markers, index cards,essential oils and more for reading analysis.

Basic classroom supplies are a great support for what we do in the classroom everyday. Its the essential things that even the playing field, and make it so that each child is able to thrive in the classroom. Lately we have been doing some fun reading analysis that requires using multiple colors, and the blue highlighters will be a fun addition and add just a little pinch of engagement to the process. Paper, index cards, pens and erasers are items we are running out of, and it would be so great for the students to continue to have access to these resources for the remainder of the school year. The essential oils are a part of a classroom climate that we enjoy, a peaceful place of learning.
