My classroom is filled with enthusiastic students who are excited to learn. However, my students do not have the necessary basic supplies to complete their work and achieve their academic goals.
My students come from diverse backgrounds and many of them live in low income neighborhoods.
Many of them do not have the resources to come prepared for the school day. Some do not even have pencils to complete homework assignments. They are all very eager to learn and I want to promote and foster their love of learning.
My Project
With these donated supplies of pencils, crayons and lined paper, I will be able to maximize instructional time. My students will each have their own supplies and be able to take pride in the work that they are able to achieve on a daily basis. My students will be able to work independently during math and literacy centers. They will be able to enjoy their classwork without worrying about having basic supplies.
We work hard to promote a safe and open learning environment where students are engaged in the learning process, regardless of their home situation.
It is my goal to have all my students working on or above grade level by the end of the year. These donations will make that goal easier to reach by allowing students to work at their maximum potential.
