This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

I work in a predominantly Hispanic neighborhood. My students are from about 96% low income families and they receive free lunch.

When I give out the supply list at the beginning of the school year, I have to pick and choose what materials are extremely important for them.

All of the supplies are important, but I prioritize them. Sadly the art supplies get the back seat. When students do group work I would like for them to use markers, crayons, colored pencils and bring their work to life! The lack of supplies makes their work look too monotone.

My Project

I am requesting markers - thin and bold and glue. Liquid glue makes a mess on their desks and their work. Glue sticks are neater and it does not ruin their work. With these added supplies I don't need to put them on the supply list and they can focus on getting other materials that are priority, like a calculator.

The project needs of your support.

Help me to provide my students will colorful supplies, so that they do not have to be concerned with trying to afford them. Every child has the right to an education and they should not have to worry about if they have the money to pay for their supplies. Kind people like you help them out with that, so that they can focus on getting good grades. I am thanking you in advance for your support.
