This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
First grade is awesome! My students are very eager to learn more and more every day. They are extremely curious and they love to read and engage in Math! I am a First grade, bilingual teacher at a school where most of our students are struggling readers and are one or more years below grade level in reading.
It is my number one priority to get my students reading on grade level, or above and to give them a strong Math foundation so that they are well prepared for first grade.
I am at a low socioeconomic school where many of our students have tremendous learning gaps. Many of our students have difficult home lives, so it is extremely important to provide them with a safe, caring, and positive learning environment.
My Project
I would love to provide my students with enough storage to place all of the materials that they use on a daily basis. The seats storage sacks will allow my students to be organized and to have enough space to put away the materials as well as minimize disruptions when cleaning up and organizing.
We are at a low socio economic school and we lack the necessary furniture and storage in many of our classrooms.
It would be amazing to have my students become independent when taking care of their materials!
Nearly all students from low‑income households
