This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
I am a teacher in a low economic area of our school district. Most of my students are part of the free or reduced lunch program. I am asking for donations to help build up the moral of our classroom.
We have been displaced from Hurricane Harvey and moved into another building that is more equipped for high school students.
Since we all spend 80% of our day at school, I would love to make this classroom more comfortable for all of us.
My Project
Since our school has been displaced from Hurricane Harvey, we are being housed at another campus. The campus we are at is equipped for high school students and not out elementary/middle school students. The carpet will give them a space to sit and read during the day. The bookcases will give our books and group supplies a home. The toy storage shelves will help keep our classroom supplies organized. Currently, our materials are in cardboard boxes and are quickly getting worn out.
Your donation will help the students feel more "at home" in our classroom.
By doing this they will be more apt to take pride in their classroom and learning.
