Shelving for Space

Help me give my students more classroom space with a shelving unit for clay projects.

My Students

Our school is a low income, Title I community with approximately 300 students. My students love working in materials that are hands-on and 3-D.

Art supplies are costly, and our budget is depleted, so we need your help to supplement our art curriculum.

I see every student in the school, including all ages and developmental levels, from preK-8th grade.

Kids benefit from expressing themselves in visual art, learning to think more creatively and problem solve. These projects are student-driven helping them gain more independence and feelings of autonomy.

My Project

Our classroom is small and we have little storage space. We are bursting at the seams with creative flow and art making. Unlike most art rooms, our art room does not have a supply closet.

This shelving unit will give us more classroom space by providing organization and making use of vertical space.

This was a necessary item on a previous Donors Choose project, but we did not make our fundraising goal (which means we didn't receive any of the items). So we are now adding this as a separate project, due to the cost and need.

The 20 shelf bakers rack is on wheels and can easily roll between tables and will serve to hold ongoing projects. To avoid further cost of racks to slide into the rack, we will use wood boards to create the shelves themselves.
