Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
Having food encourages students to work hard and learn math.
Some of my students arrive at class hungry, which frequently deters them from being motivated and focused on their work.
I've started using Class Dojo points to promote positive reinforcement because I find it incredibly difficult to motivate students. Students will receive snacks if they receive 15 points on Class Dojo, although typically some will want more.
Due to the positive reinforcement, the snacks will not only assist students become more motivated and focused, but they will also encourage them to complete their assignments in class.
Our students will benefit immensely from our support of this effort.
