My Project
As I prepare for another year in the classroom, I am looking for ways to learn from last year and improve the classroom experience for my students, my coworkers, and myself.
A big part of this is creating a new system for student materials.
For example, the mailbox would provide a place for students to turn in work, or replace any handouts that they lose. The crates would give my coworker and I a place to store student folders, as well as differentiate between our different classes and class sections. With this additional support, we would have designated spaces for folders and handouts. It would make sharing a classroom smoother (especially a room that houses Latin, Literature, Social Studies, and Writers Workshop), and aid students in developing their autonomy (knowing where their work is/goes allows them to ensure work is received, turned in, and not lost).
