My Students

“Education is evolving due to the impact of the Internet. We cannot teach our students in the same manner in which we were taught. Change is necessary to engage students not in the curriculum we are responsible for teaching, but in school. Period.” – April Chamberlain

My students come from low income households and they all receive free lunch.

Many of my students do not have the chance to touch an IPAD until they come to school. Despite all the issues my students face, they always come to school prepared to learn., but are in need of classroom resources. It is therefore important that I give them the opportunity to experience today’s technology.

My students are intelligent and are always willing to learn new things. They love using the IPAD to help improve their reading and math skills. Each student in my class will have access to their own IPAD, and having a headphone will be helpful when it comes to differentiating instruction. As a result of using the headphones, the students will be able to increase concentration and focus while engaging in technology based center math and reading activities.

My Project

My classroom is 1-to-1 with Ipads. My students have access to the IPAD but do not have individual headphones that will help them to concentrate and focus on their assignment. These headphones will assist me in managing students during guided instruction for reading and math. It will also enhance student personalized learning experience as they utilize technology to support differentiated instruction.

Most of the programs require students to listen to a story or word problems and with the headphone they will be able to concentrate and solve their problems correctly.

It will also help when I work with other students in small groups. With the headphones, students can use programs like Reading Eggs, Starfall, and Prodigy Math games to help improve Math, Reading and Writing skills.

If each student has a set of headphones that they can use with their IPADS, it would allow me to set up numerous lessons and learning centers to meet each of their learning needs. Thank you!
