Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
Students will investigate various methods of growing their own food in and outside of their classroom. Concepts explored through this project include the carbon cycle, photosynthesis, nutrition, soil health, and teamwork.
Students will experiment with seeds and multiple gardening methods to uncover the best ways for them to grow their own food.
Student teams will work together to research, design, build, plant and maintain their own unique gardens.
This long term environmental science project will allow students to have repeated exposure to critical learning in engaging, practical and hands-on methods.
Nearly all students from low‑income households
Data about students' economic need comes from the National Center for Education Statistics, via our partners at MDR Education. Learn more
