This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
I am a 6th grade science teacher in a school where the entire grade is located in a temporary building in the back of the main school building.
The science equipment is stored in the main building, and since it is shared, making use of teaching moments (of which there are many) is difficult.
Triple beam balances are used to teach measurements and calculate density. Instant access would allow the students to reinforce these concepts at every opportunity.
Your support will make my students feel important that they have their own equipment, and they can learn whenever they want. At present, the students lack opportunities to practice using the equipment as there are other students who need to use the balances.
