Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
My students are all from the South Bronx and reside in the community. The community has its ups and downs, and my students make it there priority to come to school everyday and ready to learn. My students like to work hard, together with classmates to complete classwork and task, and are relentless. My students respect and value one another and materials we have in the room. They love math and some of my students dream to be teachers one day.
My Project
These materials will make a big difference in my students learning and life because they will be able to use these supplies to their full advantage. Many students of mine come from low income families and providing them with supplies is a way to engage them to continue learning in the classroom. An example is receiving a printer will allow my students to have their own individual classwork sheet to follow along or a worksheet to work independently. My students copy word for word from the board into their notebooks and providing them with their own individual worksheet will help save time.
