This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
My students come to class everyday to learn, but we are lacking a classroom rug. As a first time teacher, I would love for my students to sit on a comfortable spot where they are able to interact with each other and share activities.
The classroom rug would help students find their own space and assist with daily routines such as turn and talks, think pair and share, and interact with the white board.
This rug is essential for students to have a warm spot versus a cold floor to sit on. This rug would help establish boundaries and finding their own space and support social emotional skills.
Nearly all students from low‑income households
