Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
I teach very enthusiastic first graders. They are in a program in which students are taught literacy and content in two languages. First grade is a pivotal year for learning basic reading and my group will be doing it in two languages!
My Project
This is my first graders first year in school and they are constantly and giving their all in everything they do. I want this year to be memorable experience and also make it a year where they feel successful in all they do. This is why I am asking for desk pets to use as a reward system and also the electric stapler that they can use once they are done with their work .
Both the desk pets and electric stapler will allow me to give my first grader a positive reinforcement strategy that will motivate them and create a welcoming environment.
The desk pets can even be used for different lessons for example to encourage writing or science investigations. The ideas are endless, but most of all fun and engaging.
