it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
Our classroom is in need of a refresh! After teaching for 13 years, some items in my classroom have been well loved over the years. Those items are now showing all the signs of that love and have become broken or worn out.
Making sure that everything in my classroom is working and in good condition will help strengthen my classroom culture and community!
I am requesting books for our classroom library such as Grumpy Monkey, The Big Cheese, The Magical Yet, and more. These will replace old worn out versions or help further diversify our classroom library. I have also requested a set of student scissors. The set I currently have was purchased when I first started teaching, many of them are dull or broken. I requested book bins to use during our literacy center time. I have 27 students this year, which is the most I have had in many years. Due to this, I don't have enough book boxes for every student. These will help me make up the difference.
A new pencil sharpener will replace the old and loud one we currently have and will be more efficient. The calendar set will replace the one I got my first year of teaching and provide a brighter look. Calm strips will help my students with ADHD and anxities to focus and calm down. The dry erase counters and chart paper will also replace ones that have worn out or we just need more of. Thank you for considering our project!
