My Students
I teach a group of Kindergarten students in Camden, NJ. They are sweet, energetic, fun loving kids. Teaching in a low income area shows me the challenges my students face in and out of the classroom everyday. They live in a neighborhood where some can not afford supplies, books, uniforms, etc. I want to give them the best education I can. I want to be prepared with the correct materials.
The students in my classroom love to learn and need materials for more purposeful learning.
My school is a positive and safe place for the children.The teachers and principal believe in the best for our students. Resources are limited, and we do what we can. The best way to educate children is to provide a welcoming, nurturing place. I can create that with the materials requested.
My Project
We want to fill every shelf in our classroom with seasonal books! My students need lower level books to help struggling readers in the classroom and give students choice on what they want to read. These books are perfect for my students with options of what they want to read and duplicates so they can partner read.

These books will give students choice of what they want to read. If they like fiction or nonfiction or what sparks their interest, this donation will have a book for everyone. Soon every student will have a book on hand when we fill our shelves!
