I teach in a Title I school in the Charlotte-Mecklenburg school district in Charlotte, North Carolina. Every day our students walk through the door, every single adult tells them they are the best; getting them to believe that is no easy feat. Over 42% of our student population are considered economically disadvantaged.
But we don’t let those statistics define our kids.
I know our kids are brilliant, curious, and kind. I know they have big goals and work hard to achieve them. Its our job to provide them with practical life skills to help them become whatever they want to be!
My Project
With all of the work my kids do, it would be extremely helpful if I had a printer to use in my classroom. I would love to easily print out articles, pictures and illustrations, extra support content, and materials for my students to use right away if discussions in class leads to something happening today in our world.
Sometimes when multiple students aren't able to bring or us their Chromebook in class, physical copies are needed.
Other circumstances such as printing out progress reports, sending letters home, or printing out translated documents for my English Language Learners would also benefit from having an easily accessible method of printing.
More than three‑quarters of students from low‑income households
