Classroom Printer for Printing Adapted Materials on the Fly

My Project

Having a classroom printer will allow me to print adapted and modified materials for students with special needs, such as special education students and students learning English as a second language. Additionally, sometimes it is necessary for students to print out their work rather than submit it online, and their access to printers at school is very narrow. I have found most of my students do not have access to a printer at home. Having this printer in the classroom will enable me to respond in real time to the the needs of students who need things modified or translated, as well as allowing me to print their work out for them as needed.

I have many special needs students as well as multi-language learners, including some students who speak almost no English.

I have found that as much as I anticipate their needs ahead of time, there are many occasions where I wish I could modify a worksheet in real time and print it out for them at that moment. As is, I am unable to leave the room to walk across the school to where I can print things out.

Having this printer will help me ensure that all my students, regardless of needs, have the opportunity to stay engaged during a lesson.
