This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students

My students are so talented and hard workers.
I am teaching Science this year, to two second grade classrooms. I believe the students need science tools to explore nature and animals. Many of my students come from low socioeconomic background. 100% free breakfast and lunch. 85% of the students are English Language Learners.
My Project
I am teaching science to my class and another second grade teachers students. I believe the students need science tools to explore nature and animals. Also, they will learn responsibility. The students will learn how to take care of a pet. Many of my students never had a pet at home. The students will then have a hand on activity. They will learn to take care of the fish, by feeding them, cleaning the tank and learning about fish during science class.
My students need a chance to see nature up close.
They will learn how to take care of fish, by feeding them and cleaning the aquarium and studying about fish habitat and fish facts. My students deserve all the support they can receive.
Nearly all students from low‑income households
Data about students' economic need comes from the National Center for Education Statistics, via our partners at MDR Education. Learn more
