Classroom Organizational System to Help Students Stay on Track!

Help me give my students an organizational system that will help them to keep track of their materials in binders, and store them in my biology classroom in the wall storage organizers! We'll use these every day!

My Project

Areas that my students tend to struggle in are staying organized and learning how to be responsible for their own success. Each year that I teach, I find that I learn a little bit more about how the current generation learns best, and I use that knowledge to adjust my teaching strategies for the following year. Last year, I made some big changes to my classroom structure, and the passing rate of my students on their state standardized test improved by 10%! So, I am taking that model and making some tweaks to it for this upcoming year.

This classroom model involves students taking their learning into their own hands.

The class is self-paced, with me working as the facilitator (helping students individually as needed to learn the material).

I have curated a "workbook" for students to use throughout the year. Each student will receive a printed copy of the document (workbook) at the start of the year (and they'll need binders to contain it in!). Their binders will stay in the classroom, and students will each have a designated slot in the wall organizer to store their binder.

My goal is to allow students to be in charge of their own learning, because they will get to work at their own pace, while also following certain deadlines that I set. They will have a pacing guide to help them keep on track.
