This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
My students come from low-income families who have not all had the opportunity to experience everything the world has to offer them. They are able to use what is provided to them inside the classroom, but would love to enhance their learning even more! My students are eager to learn, and would benefit from hands-on activities and other resources that will allow them to grow.
Knowing that many of my students are unable to afford educational materials necessary to grow, I am eager to find a way to provide it to them on my own!
My Project
My students need materials that will contribute to the success of their learning. My students were provided with flexible seating options this year that have made such a difference in their work ethnic. They were provided with wobble seats and yoga balls. I want to add to our classroom by providing students with another choice, including stools for small group instruction time. I also want to help my students stay organized in a room with different seating options, including ways to keep papers together, headphones separate, and books in order.
I want to provide my class with materials that will allow for smooth transitions, supporting students as they grab their things quickly and successfully.
The pocket chart will work as a "mailbox" where I can place students homework and papers to go home in. The headphone pocket holder will be a huge help when students are asked to go on their computers/iPads. It will also be helpful to have hall passes with lanyards so that students can quickly go and come back without missing important instruction.
