it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
The concept of student-led education is becoming increasingly pivotal as it empowers students to take ownership of their learning environment. In this instance, I am focusing on a practical initiative to enhance organization within the classroom. Central to this is the introduction of trays at each table, labeled so the students know which tray will be for their class, providing a space for their artwork.
This addition provides the students an opportunity to foster responsibility, autonomy, and a sense of belonging.
The trays give students the specific area for their artwork, which encourages them to actively contribute to the maintenance and organization of their learning space. It will help to foster a sense of accountability for their academic endeavors. It also gives them the autonomy to manage their artwork and learning materials, which cultivates a mindset of independence that is crucial for lifelong success. Students will also gain a sense of belonging, stemming from having a designates space for their work and materials. This will help contribute to a positive classroom culture where each student feels valued.
Along with the trays, I have also included a few learning games to build up my centers to help my Pre-K and Kindergarten students have more hands on learning activites to help them grow and also promote more independence and ownership of their education, as they learn to navigate centers, work more independently, and clean up after themselves before switching centers. Your support will help me take these new steps in my classroom and enhance the learning experience for all grade levels!
