This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
I teach a third grade class of highly motivated, enthusiastic learners. We are in a New York City public school located in the borough of The Bronx. My students have a love of learning, but most don't have the necessary supplies when they come to school.
The families of my students struggle financially.
My school is a 100% free lunch school because the majority of the students qualify for the state's free lunch program. Many of students' families are new to the country, struggling to learn the English language and find employment.
My Project
Due to their financial strains, my students are unable to afford the basic school supplies. Having these items for them, in my classroom, moderates some of their burden and allows them to concentrate and learn. By providing the class with pencils, colored pencils, markers, crayons, dry erase markers, glue sticks, pencil sharpener, and notebooks, we can start the new school year off on the right foot.
Please, support my project and help my students start the new school year off right with the supplies they need for academic success.
With your help, we will have the necessary supplies, so we can work hard to achieve success.
