Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

I have small groups from 1st Grade to 5th grade, all of them are 28 in total. If you have the opportunity to show up, you can see children from many nationalities and different cultures, kids from El Salvador, Vietnamese, Mexican, Marshallese, etc. We find different ages from 6-11 years old children who are hungry of knowledge and it's our responsibility to insert them in the English language world.

100% of my English Language Learners are visual learners, who need a large amount for resources and supplies according to their age.

My school absolutely loves to offer the best environment for new English learners, a comfortable methodology and strategies for them, ensuring an easy entry to be part of our community.

Each group in my classroom has different needs, but with the same objective: Become English Language Learners with amazing resources in technology and supplies.

My Project

The refrigerator will benefit my students because I will be able to store their snacks and beverages. Many of them come to school late and miss breakfast. I will keep milk and juice in the refrigerator so it will be readily available to them when they arrive late and hungry. It is difficult for my students to concentrate on learning when they come in the classroom hungry. The listening center will help my students become better readers. All of my students speak English as a second language, therefore, they need to listen to the language being read to them to develop fluent reading skills.

The refrigerator and listening center is beneficial to the academic growth of my students in the classroom.
