This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

As a first-year art teacher serving two different schools, I’m thrilled to share the joy of creativity with hundreds of students across our district. Because I split my time between both schools, I face the challenge of equipping two full classrooms with limited starting materials. I’m asking for your support to create bright, welcoming, and fully stocked art rooms where students can explore, express, and thrive.

Many of my students don’t have access to art supplies at home, so the classroom becomes a special place, often the only place where they can create freely.

I want every student, regardless of background or school, to feel valued and supported.

Here’s how the items I’m requesting will directly benefit my students:

Art aprons will protect clothing during messy projects like painting and collage, helping students feel more comfortable taking creative risks.

Storage caddies and table organizers will give each table access to basic supplies, encouraging independence, smoother transitions, and better use of class time.

An electric pencil sharpener is essential in a busy art room. It will save time and keep students focused with tools ready to go.

Cleaning supplies like Clorox wipes and Expo board cleaner will help keep our shared spaces safe, hygienic, and respectful for all students.

Bulletin board decorations will create a vibrant classroom environment, celebrate student work, and build pride in our creative community.

These basic supplies will help transform two bare classrooms into inspiring, student-centered spaces. With your support, I can provide every child at both schools, the opportunity to feel inspired, take pride in their learning, and grow as artists and individuals.
