As a first-year teacher, I look forward to meeting my first class of kindergarteners. Teaching is my passion and I am excited to create a positive and welcoming environment for students. Kindergarten students are so eager to learn and grow each day which makes teaching them an absolute joy.
Kindergarten is the time where students learn to love learning.
Students become part of a community for the first time and learn how to be a student. This first year of school is important to set them up for a life long love of learning and a love of school. During this first year, students start to discover themselves as an individual and as a student. I am so lucky to guide children through this year and help them grow. My school is a great community. We are so lucky to have great parent involvement and strong relationships. This is the Elementary school that I attended so I’m very excited to be back as a teacher. I cannot wait to meet my class of kindergarten students in August. I love teaching kindergarten students for their excitement and love of learning.
My Project
These tools will help my kindergarten students have a successful year! In our classroom library, we need a bookshelf at their height so they can learn how to choose books and take care of them. A doorbell is a great tool for classroom management. When it rings students know it's time to stop, look and listen to directions. The mailboxes will be used daily by students. Their finished work and flyers will be filled there so they can take them home.
This helps teach students responsibility and organization skills.
The dry erase pockets are a game changer for the classroom. I can put any page in their such as a letter tracing page and they can use their whiteboard markers to complete the sheet. This means we can use the same sheet over and over! Finally, the spelly straws are a fun center for students to work on spelling words and fine motor skills. Using tools such as spelly straws brings learning to life and helps keep students attention. These tools will help make learning more meaningful in my classroom.
