Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

Next school year will be my first year teaching first grade, and I am very excited! As a first-year teacher, I do not have all the materials and supplies ready for my classroom, which is why I am looking for help here! Some of the materials include the basics such as crayons, glue sticks, and pencils for their everyday needs. In addition, I am also asking for manipulatives for our math lessons such as counters, base ten blocks, and shapes! These classroom materials will be kept in the classroom and used during the lessons.

With your help, all of my students will be equipped with the necessary materials and supplies for their learning!

For example, when my students are learning about time or addition, they can use the mini clocks or counters to work in groups or independently to solve problems. They may be figuring out what time is being shown using their mini clocks. They may show their work and explain it using counters in a concrete way. Younger grades, such as first grade, needs hands-on activities to better understand concepts. They learn in different ways, and these materials will ensure that most if not all learning styles are being met. These supplies will make a difference in our classroom and help my students be prepared and engaged for the lessons.
