I have a very diverse group of students. They are all very active with a love for learning. They love being at school and being with each other. In This group there are high preforming students and low performing students. I have students that English isn't the language spoke at home. I also several students that use the resource room daily. They all need various methods in order to learn. The pandemic has affected them in various ways. One being that they dislike virtual and love in person learning. My group of students need and want hands on learning at school. The pandemic has slowed their growth as students with so much in person time missed.
My Project
The goal of my classroom project is to ensure all students have the opportunity to learn through various means. Having ample opportunities to use hands-on activities and manipulatives in the classroom is very important. My project is to provide math and science manipulatives that align with the state standards in my classroom. As well as having the proper organization and storage for these materials. This will ensure these materials will be able to be used for years into the future. The manipulatives will help all students as they are able to work hand-on while learning. This will benefit all students at all levels of learning. The results of this project will be an increase of math and science knowledge. I also believe that this project will result in an increase in the general love of math and science.
