My Students
Rowdy, excited and very talkative! Our students in our dual language immersion class are very busy and highly active students. My Chinese partner teacher only speaks Chinese to our students in her classroom. We would like to use the materials to help manage our classes.
These students have been in the Chinese dual language immersion program for three years.
They are challenged by being immersed in a foreign language for half of the school day. My partner teacher, straight from Taiwan, and I would like to coordinate our management strategies.
My Project
Using the Chinese Gong will be an unusual and pleasant way to get the students to pay attention. The gongs can be used in both the Chinese classroom and the English classroom. Also, the behavior management charts will help the students learn how to become aware of their behavior choices.
Learning how to behave responsibly in a classroom is a very important skill for young students.
Using the same management tools in both the Chinese-Only and English classrooms will create continuity for all the students.
