My Students
My students are a diverse group both racially and socio-economically. I teach everything from ESL to honors classes and see a wide variety of reading levels, enthusiastic levels, and maturity levels on a daily basis.
Although my student population is diverse, they are great kids who are at an important stage of their development as they are transitioning not only to other schools in the future, but also into adulthood.
At this fundamental stage in their lives, it is important that they have the best possible educational and life experiences available to them as they are maturing to a different stage in life where the decisions they make now, will influence them greatly in the future.
My Project
I have found that note cards, slips of paper, and floating clipboards are hard to keep track of. After viewing what administration has tried and developing my own systems, I've spent a lot of time thinking of better ways to track classroom items. I've decided to use iPads and technology to track everything I currently do with paper.
I'm asking for these iPads for classroom use for the purposes: I'd like a better way to track hall pass usage, classroom library book checkout, and to use with a classroom management and seating chart software tool I am writing.
This will benefit my students greatly because I will be a much more organized and better teacher who will be able to spend more time focusing on content and learning rather on tracking non-academic items in my classroom!
