My students need seating for their reading nook, the Empire Chairs will be perfect for enjoying a book in our reading nook. They also are in need of storage bins and shelves for their group materials.
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
I am a teacher in a low economic area of our school district. Most of my students are part of the free or reduced lunch program. I am asking for donations to help build up the morale of our classroom.
We have been displaced from Hurricane Harvey and moved into another building that is more equipped for high school students.
Since we all spend 80% of our day at school, I would love to make this classroom more comfortable for all of us.
My Project
Ever since August 24, 2017, the lives of my students just have been the same. We have been relocated due to damage to our school from Hurricane Harvey. We are slowly getting our community back together. Recently, our school has received portable buildings, in which our class will be moved into. With this move we would like to make our classroom much more comfortable and age appropriate (currently we are housed in the upstairs portion of the High School).
With the ability to have some seating in our reading nook, it will provide my students a nice relaxing place to enjoy reading a book.
We would also like for our daily essential tools to be stored close to the groups seating. Therefore the shelves and storage bins will be used to house those materials close by.
