I am a third year kindergarten teacher. I still do not have near the amount of books to enrich the education of my students. I am in need of books that I can read aloud to my students and also books that they can read independently.
Books are one of the most important types of materials that any classroom needs especially in kindergarten. In our school district the students are lower middle class and do not have access to books at home. I am asking for your help in purchasing books that I can read aloud to my students and books they can read independently.
The books that I am asking for are easy read books with few words and sight words that the children will learn throughout the year. They will be capable of reading these books independently (phonics books and sight-word readers). I am also asking for books (biographies, science stories and classic library stories) that I can read aloud to back up my lessons such as a story about Martin Luther King or about zoos.
