My Project

I teach an amazing group of curious, imaginative, and motivated third graders who are always hungry for a good book. They light up during independent reading time and eagerly share recommendations with one another. However, many of the books in our current classroom library are worn, outdated, or no longer engaging for today's readers.

I am a first-year teacher; due to this, my classroom library is scarce and includes a lot of outdated books that were handed down.

My students love to read. Having an updated classroom library with newer books will help encourage them to read more. It will also give them more relatable materials to read.

By adding new, high-interest titles to our library, I can better match students with books that reflect their lives, interests, and diverse experiences. These books will help strengthen their reading skills, spark meaningful conversations, and foster a lifelong love of reading. With your support, every student will have access to fresh stories that inspire, challenge, and celebrate who they are.
