This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
This project is aimed at fostering a culture of independent reading among the students in my classroom. The primary objective is to curate a diverse library of several hundred books, encompassing a wide range of genres such as novels, comics, short story collections, and graphic novels. This project includes books that have been popular favorites among my students: Raina Telgemeier's series that includes Smile and Drama, Dragon Ball Z, Diary of a Wimpy Kid, Dog Man, and Amulet. As we progress through the school year, it's exciting to see students enjoying the opportunity to immerse themselves in books during class or take them home. This project aims to bolster our collection, ensuring there is always something new and exciting for them to explore.
