As a new ENL teacher, I want to support my students' diversity by building a classroom library that reflects their culture and ability levels.
Having books with high interest and books with characters that identify like they do will encourage my students to read and write. Reading will allow them to utilize phonics and decoding lessons with a greater purpose, as well as build their knowledge of the world around them.
