A typical day is busy. We are busy the most during literacy block. We are doing different things that are literacy based (daily 5, Orton Gilligham). By the end of the year, I want my students to be on grade level or higher. The biggest challenge is the different learning personalities of the class.
I have a class full of Kindergarten students who are eager to learn and read.
My students love getting a variety of books and looking at them and trying to read them. The school that I work for and the students attend is a Title 1 school. The resources would provide a great opportunity for my Kindergarten students.
My Project
My students will use the leveled readers during guided reading and independent reading. The leveled readings will help them as the become better readers throughout the year. The books will provide the students with an opportunity to learn to read through the variety of levels. The read along books will provide the students the opportunity to listen to reading and hear fluent reading.
The project will improve my classroom by allowing my students to have a variety of books that are on their level and books that will be on their level as they move up in levels.
It will, also, provide them the opportunity to receive books that will help with their reading.
