Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

My school and my classroom is very diverse. We have students with many different background. I want to build a classroom library that reflects that. Many of my students speak Spanish at home. I want those students to see themselves and their backgrounds in my classroom.

I also want to provide them with opportunities to read in their native language.

We also have many students who are classified as newcomers. These students move to the United States from another country and speak very little English (if any).

I want to provide them with an easier transition by having books they can read and relate to.

Please help me make this a reality and help me to build a love for reading in all my students.
