Classroom Library (Soon to Be) Favorites

Help me give my students high quality books for our fifth grade classroom library!

FULLY FUNDED! Mrs. Fox's classroom raised $707

My Students

Our school is located in Center City in Philadelphia. Our students come from 43 of Philadelphia's 49 unique zip codes. 94% of our students are African American and 98% of our students qualify for free or reduced-price lunch.

Our 5th grade consists of 3 classes of amazing students rising to the challenges of pandemic learning.

We stress the 4 Rs, respect, responsibility, resilience, and reflection, with the goal of giving students roots to grow and wings to fly.

My Project

Packing my classroom library with high quality books promotes life long reading by allowing all students to find something they enjoy reading; books they just cannot put down. Even reluctant readers get excited to read when they find engaging books that focus on their interests.

Providing a variety of books from all genres and diverse perspectives allows students to find books that satisfy their curiosity and ignite a love of reading.

Relatable characters, new information, and eloquent language absorbed through reading benefit students in all areas.

In fifth grade, many students begin the year having never read a novel on their own. Access to high quality library materials builds reading stamina and interest. Help our fifth graders become better readers, writers, and all around people by providing them with riveting, independent, reading materials!
