This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
At our school we celebrate our military kids EVERY DAY! We have a diverse student population from all over the country (and overseas!), and it’s important to provide them with high-interest books with characters they can identify with and relate to, since being a military kid always comes with challenges they are learning to overcome!
Adding titles such as, “Mr. Terupt”, “Skeleton Creek”, and “Holes” will enhance my classroom library immensely.
These books will ensure my students can always count on finding something they will love to read on the shelves. Having these engaging books available will be the key to fostering a lifelong love of reading. They will also use them to guild class discussions and develop critical thinking skill as they analyze characters and identify the different themes they encounter while reading.
