This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

I am always trying to fill my classroom bookshelves with new books full of topics that interest my students. It is so important to make sure students have access to current books that explore topics they are interested in and can relate to.

I love seeing my students' faces light up with excitement when they see new book titles on our library shelves.

Getting to share this excitement with them brings so much joy and community into our classroom.

I spend a lot of time trying to spread book love throughout my classroom. Some ways that I do this are through book talks, book clubs, First Chapter Fridays, and a daily picture book read aloud every morning. This list of books will help me with this goal to get every student reading a book that interests them.
