My Project

My second graders are building their love for reading. Students transition from learning to read to reading to learn in second grade. As their reading skills progress, they begin to understand and enjoy chapter books. This is a major milestone and fostering that love for reading and reading for fun is something I strive to provide in my classroom. Student say that they feel grown up reading chapter books.

I have intentionally chosen box series and sets to provide my students with exciting new reading material at their fingertips.

When students are able to read efficiently a book that grabs their attention, it ignites the desire to continue reading. My goal is to help reading to come back alive for my students. When they have a vibrant classroom library, it gives me the opportunity as their teacher to foster their love for reading.
