My students need a selection of 29 books about various musical genres, famous performers, and important composers to help incorporate literacy activities in the music classroom.
FULLY FUNDED! Ms. Long's classroom raised $464

Every teacher can help teach literacy skills. However, having resources to teach literacy skills makes that job much easier. I teach general music to approximately 400 students in grades 1-6 in the Delta Region of Arkansas.
Unfortunately, I only have a few books for my students to read in my classroom, and fewer books that my students find engaging or that are on the correct reading level for them.
The books I'm asking for would be a good start to a classroom library in my music classroom and would enable me to incorporate more literacy instruction into our music curriculum. These books cover a range of musical topics and reading levels so that all students will be able to find a book on the right level and that interests them. Plus, most of these books are included in the Accelerated Reader program at our school so that students can test their understanding of the text. Lastly, many of these books directly correspond to topics already included in our school's curriculum.
Your donation can help engage my students in music while working on their literacy skills through helping bring a classroom library into our music classroom.
