Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
These books will be read by 9th and 10th grade students during independent reading projects. My goal is to have books students actually want to read and that will expose them to a love of literature.
After a recent library expansion, students requested more poetry and literature reflective of Latinx identity and experiences.
Many of my students particularly love to read memoirs and are looking for stories reflective of experiences relevant to their own experiences.
With your donations, my project will reach formerly reluctant readers and help them to love reading.
