This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
My students love to read books and they love to hear them read aloud. Storytime is one of the highlights of their day, however, our library is in need of some new books for my students to enjoy.
My students love to read, and research shows that children who read for enjoyment perform better academically than those who don't.
Reading helps children develop a broader vocabulary, it exposes them to other cultures, and increases their general knowledge.
Adding to our library will offer my students a variety of books to choose from. They'll have the opportunity to read and listen to non-fiction books and all time favorites that they like to read over and over again. They also enjoy picture dictionaries, which will be beneficial for my students who are learning the English language.
