My Project

Our Title I 7th and 8th grade ELA classroom is brimming with potential, but our access to diverse and engaging books is limited. This DonorsChoose project aims to ignite a passion for reading in every student by building a vibrant classroom library. Imagine students freely selecting titles that spark their curiosity, diving into new worlds, and discovering their own voices through literature.

Currently, a lack of readily available books creates a barrier to independent reading and exploration.

With your support, we can purchase a rich collection of novels, non-fiction texts, and graphic novels that reflect the diverse interests and backgrounds of our students. These books will not only align with our curriculum and approved by the school district as age-appropriate and educational, but also offer windows into different cultures and perspectives, fostering empathy and understanding.

To create an inviting and organized reading space, this project also includes funding for sturdy and accessible shelving. Imagine our classroom transformed into a haven for readers, where students can easily browse and select their next literary adventure. Providing both the books and the shelving ensures that every student, regardless of their home resources, has the opportunity to read widely and develop a lifelong love of learning. Your contribution will empower our students to become confident, engaged readers and critical thinkers.
