Our school opened Fall of 2017 in Southern Utah. My classroom is the language arts side of the dual immersion program in second grade. I am wanting to incorporate as much technology as possible for our centers and independent work. I have 57 students who are eager and ready to learn. They love using technology and are so smart!
With large class sizes in dual immersion it will be helpful to have the students engaged in technology and not just working from worksheets!
Being a STEM school we are incorporating technology and engineering into the daily lessons. We are looking forward to using iPads for many different things.
My Project
I believe by engaging the students in the learning process, it will help them become successful.
Classroom iPads will help my students be engaged in their spelling and reading centers and not just doing worksheets.
Most of my time in dual immersion language arts is spent working with the students in small groups on reading and writing. At the last school, I taught at I had one to one with technology and seen the improvement in academics and student behavior. My goal is to provide iPads for every student. iPads will help improve student engagement and motivation for all learners.
